More than 540 jobs at risk as Nestlé plans to close Limerick factory

Nestlé Ireland intends to close its baby formula plant in Askeaton, Co Limerick, with the potential loss of 542 jobs

Nestlé Ireland has announced a proposal to close its baby formula plant in Askeaton, Co Limerick, putting 542 jobs at risk.

The company said the Wyeth Nutrition factory would close in Q1 of 2026, and its research and development centre would shut in Q1 of 2025.

“We will now consult with all employees and their representative unions,” the company said in a statement.
