The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme has been made available to help those impacted by flooding in Co Galway in the midst of Storm Debi, Heather Humphreys, the Minister for Social Protection, has confirmed, while supports will be extended to other affected areas as required.
The scheme is designed to prevent hardship by providing income-tested financial support to those whose homes are damaged by flooding or other extreme weather events.
