Mike Ashley ups Boohoo stake to 9.1%

Sports Direct founder has spent roughly £40 million acquiring shares at the fast fashion site

Mike Ashley, the high street retail titan, has pushed up his stake again in Boohoo, the fast fashion group run by Offaly-man John Lyttle.

Stock exchange filings show that Ashley’s main company, Fraser Group, through which he owns the Frasers department store chain and Sports Direct, now holds a 9.1 per cent stake in Boohoo, up from its previous stake of 7.8 per cent.
