Meta’s €265 million DPC fine appeal adjourned until EU court WhatsApp decision

An appeal by Meta, the Facebook parent company, against a €265 million fine from the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) has been adjourned by the High Court, pending the outcome of European proceedings on a separate WhatsApp fine.

The DPC imposed the order on the social media giant in 2022, after data relating to over half a billion users was leaked online the year before.
