Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has confirmed its intention to go ahead with its expansion plans in Dublin - despite its UK arm spending £149 million (€171 million) to break a lease in London.

Meta is due to officially open its new Irish campus in Ballsbridge, at the former AIB Bankcentre site, next month, with many of the company’s 2,000 Irish staff already working at the Ballsbridge site.

A spokesperson for Meta told the Business Post the company intends to continue as planned despite its moves in the UK.
