McVerry Trust repaying multi-million euro tax debt to Revenue amid financial crisis

Peter McVerry Trust, the housing and homeless charity, is currently repaying €8.3 million in tax debts to Revenue.

It comes after the Business Post first revealed emerging financial issues at the homeless charity last month.

On Tuesday, the Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) said it had appointed inspectors “to conduct a statutory investigation” of PMVT following the revelations of financial difficulties, which include the repayment of millions of euro in taxes.
