Why McDonald’s has decided to close Limerick city restaurant

The chain has been operating at the site at the junction of Cruises Street and O'Connell Street for 30 years

McDonald’s is to close its fast-food restaurant located at the junction of Cruises Street and O'Connell Street in Limerick city as the site is “not compatible” with the its future plans.

“The current site on Cruises Street is not compatible with Convenience of the Future, which is why McDonald’s has taken the difficult decision to close the restaurant. McDonald’s is actively looking for a more suitable site within Limerick,” the company has said.
