Maurice Regan pledged to crush John Magnier’s €15m Barne Estate deal, new filings allege

Coolmore stud owner claims Regan called his son in law to say that he would pay €5 million over Magnier’s bid to ensure the deal fell apart

John Magnier has alleged that Maurice Regan committed to paying an additional €5 million more for Barne Estate to ensure that a deal with him would not go through.

The Coolmine stud owner also alleged that the US-based businessman and co-owner of the Mercantile Group of pubs, made “several offers” to purchase the property during a period of exclusivity he had between August 31 and September 30 last year.
