Uniphar led the Irish stock exchange into the green on Monday, with the Iseq trading up 51 points to 8,896.63 by close of business, as gains in big tech shares drove Wall Street higher.

The Irish-based pharma gained almost 6 per cent following reports of an upsurge in M&A transaction values within the life science sphere last year.
