Markets eye rate cut but not yet as Bank of England to hold rates steady

The Bank of England is widely expected to keep the interest rate steady when it meets today, but investors will hope for a sign that a cut could some soon.

Some analysts believe members of the monetary policy committee (MPC) could back a rate cut as soon as June, with inflation expected to fall closer to the Bank's 2 per cent target.
