Market wrap: Iseq extends falls as US inflation figures dampen mood

The US consumer price index ticked up 0.1 per cent in November

Global stocks drifted following fresh data out of the US, which showed the consumer price index was 0.1 per cent higher in November with a yearly 3.1 per cent inflation rate.

Dublin’s stock exchange continued its downward momentum on Tuesday afternoon as US inflation figures proved to be “a little bit of a mood dampener”.

The Iseq All Share was down 36 points, or 0.42 per cent, to 8,481.8 on Tuesday evening as Corre Energy and Cairn Homes dropped 3.85 per cent and 3.37 per cent apiece along with Kenmare Resources, FBD Holdings and AIB down 2.9, 2.6 and 2.5 per cent respectively.
