Man United shares jump after Qatari group makes improved offer

The football club’s stock was up 9.7 per cent to as of 5:20 a.m. in New York

Shares for Manchester United Plc spiked by almost 10 per cent in the US pre-market today, after sources familiar with the club’s ongoing ownership race said a group lead by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani submitted an improved offer, Bloomberg reports.

Man United’s stock was up 9.7 per cent to $20.80 (€19.18) apiece as of 5:20 a.m. this morning in New York, where it is listed.
