Majority of those in rural Ireland in favour of wind farms in their area

A new survey for Wind Energy Ireland found very few residents were opposed to the renewable energy

More than half of people in rural Ireland would be in favour of a wind farm locally, a new survey has found.

The survey, which was carried out for Wind Energy Ireland by Interactions Research, polled a representative sample of 1,017 Irish adults together with a supplementary booster sample of 201 rural dwellers. It was carried out between 23 November and 8 December 2022.
