‘Majority’ of state capital projects will go ahead despite inflation funding gap - Donohoe

The National Development Plan committed €160 billion to 2030 for major state projects, but inflation has left the plan underfunded

Paschal Donohoe said he expected the “majority” of the state’s capital projects to go ahead, as concerns grow over a multi-billion hole in the government’s National Development Plan due to inflation.

Responding to a Business Post story last weekend about forthcoming talks on capital budgets with each department, Donohoe said it was “always the case” that certain projects over the long term would need additional funding.
