Mac Interiors to enter liquidation after High Court hears revised rescue plan is ‘unfeasible’

Troubled Newry construction firm will be liquidated after failing to land ‘modified’ scheme of arrangement

A Newry-based fit-out and construction company is to be wound up after the High Court heard this morning that a potential revised rescue plan was not feasible.

Mr Justice Michael Quinn also ruled that Mac Interiors will be liquidated by Aiden Murphy of Crowe Ireland following an application for his appointment from Revenue.

Mac Interiors had, through its examiner, been attempting a “modified” scheme of arrangement after the judge said he agreed with objections raised by Revenue, which was facing an almost complete write down of its over €13 million in warehoused debt.
