M20 road between Cork and Limerick not due to start until 2027

Building of the much-anticipated M20 upgrade between Limerick and Cork is not expected to start until 2027, it has emerged.

According to documents, as reported by the Irish Independent, building is expected to finish in 2031 with tender documents for the project contractor set to be issued towards the end of 2025.

The details of the road development are contained in the ‘Prospects 2023/2024’ report published by the Department of Public Expenditure.
