LGFA to appoint law and medical experts in new trans player policy

Ladies Gaelic Football Association document follows objection to a trans woman’s participation for a Dublin team last August

The LGFA policy states that trans women will be eligible to play at all levels subject to certain conditions

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) will appoint legal and medical experts to assess applications from transgender women who want to play the sport, according to a policy document ratified last week.

The document states that the LGFA is “committed to the inclusion of trans women”.
