Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has led the tributes to John Bruton, the former taoiseach and Fine Gael leader, who died on Tuesday aged 76.

In a statement, Varadkar said he was “devastated” to learn of Bruton’s passing after a long illness at the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin.
