Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict and an independent investigation into Tuesday’s hospital bombing.

Hundreds of people are reported to have been killed in a massive explosion at a crowded hospital in Gaza City, in the biggest single loss of life in the territory in many years.
