Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has backed Paschal Donohoe’s credentials as the next IMF boss, but is insisting the Dublin Central TD is not leaving Irish politics.

Varadkar, speaking from Dubai, told the Business Post that Donohoe would make “an excellent Managing Director of the IMF” and described him as “one of the most capable politicians in Ireland”.
