Kevin Bakhurst: ‘I would like to know why Dee Forbes did the Ryan Tubridy deal’
The new director general of RTÉ says a lot of things are going to be different at the national broadcaster from now on
Kevin Bakhurst, sitting by the window of his new office on the third floor of the admin building at RTÉ, still doesn’t know why Dee Forbes did the now infamous Ryan Tubridy deal.
But can he understand why she did it?
“No.”
Would he have done the same given the pressure she was under to pay up?
“No.”
Then why did she do it?
“I don’t know, but I’d like to hear why she did it,” RTÉ’s new director general told the Business Post on his fifth day as head of a national broadcaster experiencing the worst crisis in its history.
