Kerrygold sales top €1.6 billion as Cork plant doubles capacity

Dairy co-op Ornua generated overall group sales of more than €3.4 billion last year – though profit margins squeezed to ease inflation pressure on customers

John Jordan, chief executive of Ornua, the dairy co-op that owns Kerrygold, said the company was on track to hit its 2025 target

Sales of Kerrygold butter topped €1.6 billion last year with the brand “slightly ahead of schedule” to hit its target of achieving a record €2 billion in sales in the next three years.

John Jordan, chief executive of Ornua, the dairy co-op that owns the brand, said the company was on track to hit its 2025 target as it continued to see strong sales growth in key international markets.

“We’re seeing double-digit volume growth for Kerrygold in most of our key markets,” Jordan told the Business Post. “We’re selling 11 million packets of Kerrygold branded cheese and butter around the world every week now. That’s just phenomenal when you think about it.”
