A small fraction of landowners who face hefty new land hoarding taxes have lodged judicial reviews in a bid to avoid the levies.

In April, more than 620 landowners lodged appeals with An Bord Pleanála after they were notified by local councils that they faced significant land-hoarding taxes under the new Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT) scheme.
