High Court judge to be Ireland's second representative on European court

Colm Mac Eochaidh has been nominated as the state’s second representative on the General Court of the European Union Pic: RollingNews.ie

The government has nominated High Court judge Colm Mac Eochaidh as the state’s second representative on the General Court of the European Union.

Mac Eochaidh’s nomination is subject to approval by the EU and if confirmed, he will join Ireland’s existing judge Anthony Collins on the court. The number of judges on the court is expanding due to an increased number of forthcoming cases.
