Ivan Yates predicts Sinn Féin will win more than 70 seats in next general election

Former Fine Gael minister predicts sitting government parties will lose many seats due to failure to address delays in delivering housing and large infrastructure projects

Ivan Yates, the former Fine Gael minister, has predicted a “juggernaut” landslide Sinn Féin win in the next general election that will secure the party more than 70 seats.

The next Irish general election is due to take place by March 2025 at the latest. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has ruled out an early general election, but reports have suggested Fianna Fáil are preparing to go to the polls in late 2024.
