Irish whiskey exports hit €1bn for first time last year

Irish Whiskey Association says main drivers of growth in industry were growing global demand for premium Irish whiskey and rise in e-commerce post-pandemic

The value of Irish whiskey exports to the all-island economy exceeded €1 billion for the first time last year, according to preliminary data from the Irish Whiskey Association.

Described as an “important milestone” by William Lavelle, the Director of the IWA, the association said on Wednesday the growth in Irish whiskey exports has created more jobs, and increased into regional and rural communities.
