Irish M&A market records 300 deals worth €14.8bn in 2022

Report from William Fry finds total value to be down 2 per cent on 2021 but that the Irish market is “weathering the storm” better than most.

A total of 300 deals were recorded within the Irish mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market in 2022, a drop of 2 per cent since 2021, according to William Fry, the law firm.

The total deal value came to €14.8 billion, which is 38 per cent lower from the figure recorded in 2021 but excludes the $28 billion (€26.5 billion) offer by Amgen for Horizon Therapeutics, announced in December.
