Irish firms pull back on investment as uncertainty grows

Enterprise Ireland head says companies’ appetite for risk is moderating due to inflation and energy supply issues, which might hurt their future prospects

The rate of investment among Irish businesses is beginning to slow down, the chief executive of Enterprise Ireland has warned.

Speaking to the Business Post last week, Leo Clancy said firms have started to reduce spending on new investments, capital projects and research and development work, which he added could hurt businesses down the line.
