Irish economy to grow 1.2% this year, EU predicts

The Irish economy will expand by 1.2 per cent this year, the European Commission predicts — slightly ahead of the EU average but trailing most southern and eastern countries.

However Irish jobs growth and investment are set to remain well ahead of the EU average this year, with the unemployment rate amongst the lowest in the bloc.
