Irish economists rank amongst most ‘ideologically biased’ in the world, research shows

Stephen Kinsella, a professor of economics at UL, has questioned the validity of the research considering it surveyed only 16 Irish economists.

President Michael D Higgins has faced criticism for his comment that economists were “stuck in an inexorable growth narrative”.

Economists in Ireland have been found to “exhibit the largest ideological bias” in the world, new academic research has shown.

Details of ideological bias among Irish economists was included in a paper published in April’s edition of the Cambridge Journal of Economics.
