Irish Distillers, the makers of Jameson whiskey, has said it will phase out its use of non-recyclable secondary packaging such as gift boxes within the next two years.

The drinks giant said the move to recyclable, reusable, or compostable secondary packaging will see a reduction of around 4 million non-recyclable gift boxes from the Jameson brand alone between now and the end of 2025.
