Global shortages of aeroplanes and aircraft parts will continue to impact lessors and airlines for a number of years, according to the chief executive of SMBC Aviation Capital, the world’s second-biggest leasing company.

Peter Barrett today told delegates at the Airline Economics conference in Dublin that the issues facing airlines due to delivery delays from manufacturers “will improve but it will take time”.
