Ireland’s workforce grew by 3.4 per cent in 2023 to more than 2.7 million

The number of people in employment in Ireland rose by 3.4 per cent over the last 12 months to more than 2.7 million, according to the Central statistics Office (CSO).

Unemployment also grew slightly in the last year, rising by 0.1 percentage point to 4.2 per cent, making up 117,700 people. The employment rate for people between the ages of 15-64 was 74 per cent.
