Ireland has warned the United Nations (UN) that any attempt to establish a new global tax treaty should not duplicate the work already done under the OECD’s existing framework.

The UN has set up a committee to draft the terms of reference for a new UN framework convention on international tax co-operation to make the policy fully inclusive and more effective, especially for developing countries, and to address illicit financial flows and tax evasion.
