Future Ireland Fund: Ireland to have pot worth €100bn by 2035, Michael McGrath announces

The fund will not be accessible until 2040 and will ‘future-proof’ public finances and will offset costs associated with ageing population

Michael McGrath, Minister for Finance: ‘This will be a sum of approximately €4.3 billion in 2024’

Finance Minister Michael McGrath told the Dáil in his Budget 2024 speech that approximately €4.3 billion or 0.8 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) generated from excess corporate tax receipts will now be diverted each year to a new “Future Ireland Fund”.
