Ireland to appoint director to London-based bank funding Ukraine’s economic revival
Institution formed in 1991 to aid former Soviet states
The government is to appoint a director to the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development for a three-year term.
The London-based investment bank was originally founded to aid the reconstruction of Eastern European states and their move towards market-oriented economies following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. It is made up of 23 directors who oversee the bank’s operations.
