Pat Gelsinger, Intel's chief executive, has said the firm is making strides in efforts to return to global leadership.

“I would give us a passing grade, two and a half years into the journey,” Gelsinger said in an interview last week as the firm opened a new factory in Leixlip, Co Kildare.
