Inflation rose to 3.2% in December, flash estimate shows

Energy prices dropped by more than 6 per cent last month, according to new preliminary figures

Prices rose by 3.2 per cent in the year to December, a new flash estimate has shown, as energy prices decreased by more than 6 per cent on an annual basis.

This compares with HICP inflation of 2.5 per cent in Ireland in the 12 months to November 2023, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), and an annual rise of 2.4 per cent for the Eurozone in the same period.
