Income stalled for most individuals in the bottom half of earners and fell for the poorest tenth of Irish households in 2021, new research has shown.

A new analysis by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) also showed that the patterns of income growth in richer cohorts in 2021 has led to an increase in income inequality in Ireland.
