IMF cites ‘balanced risks’ for global growth as it revises down Irish GDP forecast

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has chopped its forecasted growth for Ireland’s gross domestic product (GDP) but flagged “balanced global risks” could lead to upward or downward revisions to forecasts.

The IMF has predicted the Irish economy will grow by 1.5 per cent in 2024, down from a prediction of 3.3 per cent in October. The body predicts growth will pick up in 2025 to 2.5 per cent.
