Ikea-backed Nornorm mulls move into Irish market

Company chaired by Skype co-creator Jonas Kjellberg operates what it calls a ‘furniture-as-a-service’ business model

Nornorm, a Danish-headquartered start-up backed by Ikea which allows businesses to rent office furniture on a subscription basis, is weighing up a move into the Irish market.

The company, which recently raised €110 million in funding led by Verdane, a specialist growth equity firm, and Ikea, operates what it calls a ‘furniture-as-a-service’ business model which seeks to bring an end to furniture ending up in landfill.
