People who are hosting Ukrainian refugees in their homes for at least six months can now apply for a €400 state payment per month to cover their expenses.

Around 42,000 refugees have arrived from Ukraine to date, with more than 30,000 of them living in state-provided accommodation.

But there are thousands of Ukrainian refugees who are staying with host families or in second properties made available during the crisis.
