Home for Life aims to help up to 3,000 distressed mortgage holders per year

The voluntary mortgage-to-rent scheme is aimed at people who are at risk of losing their home

A private company expects to deal with 3,000 distressed mortgage holders annually as part of the state-backed mortgage-to-rent scheme.

Home for Life is working with 475 homeowners whose mortgages are unsustainable. All of these cases will have completed the scheme in the first quarter of 2019, according to its chief executive Paul Cunningham.
