Michael Fingleton, the former boss of Irish Nationwide (INBS), has denied participating in alleged regulatory breaches at the lender during the Celtic Tiger years.

In an account that conflicts with senior INBS director Stan Purcell, the 79-year-old points to other competent and reliable senior figures in charge of ensuring compliance at the building society.
