Guinness workers in row over ‘famous’ pension scheme

Diageo is facing a dispute with its staff in Guinness Ireland over its efforts to shore up the company’s self-described “famous Guinness pension” scheme.

According to the company’s own website, records of Guinness workers receiving a pension go back to 1860, but the company has been involved in intense negotiations with its workers in recent months to shore up its Guinness Ireland Group Pension Scheme.
