Government spends almost half a million on RTÉ probes
Root-and-branch reviews into national broadcaster have been repeatedly delayed
The government has so far spent more than €477,000 on three ongoing reviews into governance, HR and accountancy practices at RTÉ.
Catherine Martin, the media minister, last July established what she called the “root-and-branch” probes into RTÉ following the secret payments scandal emerging.
The first review into corporate governance and organisational culture is chaired by Professor Niamh Brennan, the UCD academic and chair of the audit and risk committee of An Garda Síochána.
