A consultant has said that the current regulations for car parks are “out-dated and ill-founded”
A veteran fire safety consultant has criticised the government for failing to upgrade fire safety standards to take account of the increased risk of car park fires.
The consultant, Ray Connolly of Fire & Risk Solutions Ltd, described the fire safety regulations for car parks as “out-dated and ill-founded”, and said that the existing guidance documents only set bare-minimum standards for multi-storey car parks.
