Ireland’s Government debt has the potential to fall below €200 billion by 2030, according to the head of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA).

Government debt fell by €11 billion to €225 billion in 2022, Frank O’Connor, NTMA chief executive, said on Wednesday at the launch of the NTMA’s 2022 annual report.

The fall in debt last year was the first since 2019 and the largest since 2014.
