Government considering tax credit for renters in budget, Tánaiste says

The government is considering introducing a tax credit for renters in the Budget next week, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has told the Dáil.

It comes at a time when rising rents and a shortage of available accommodation have increased the pressures on renters.

The government has previously ruled out bringing in a rent tax credit, but there are suggestions that it is going to change its stance in next week’s Budget.
