Google Boland’s Mill affordable apartments to be handed to housing body by end of year

The big tech firm said it had still yet to appoint an approved housing agency to the Boland’s Mill scheme

Google’s Barrow Street development is expected to have capacity for more than 1,000 staff when complete

Google Ireland has said that the 46 apartments on its Boland’s Mill project will be handed over to an approved housing body by the end of the year.

This not-for-profit body will then facilitate the renting of those properties to the public at a lower cost than the general market rate, but Google said it couldn’t share specifics as the housing body has yet to be confirmed.

The apartments, currently under construction on Barrow Street in Dublin’s docklands, were a planning condition of Google developing the large Boland’s Mill site.
